the Bitcoin security team
We are an international team, with our headquarter in the middle of the Atlantic. We are incorporated since 2020 in the Azores, Portugal.
we believe in
Technologist but not a dev, adversarial thinker who thinks everything is broken. Believes freedom of the individual is paramount.
Bitcoin contributor who loves advanced scripts but not broken ones. Wants to become a Greek philosopher when he retires.
Was into Go, now is into Rust. Kinda like Mario, his goal is to exterminate all mushrooms.
She gets all the things done at Wizardsardine, is our shadowy super not-a-coder.
Our story begins
A hedge fund from Luxembourg reach out to Kevin through his consulting firm Chainsmiths to research a
bitcoin custody solution with spending policies.
Kevin designs a Bitcoin Vault architecture that does not require covenants nor key deletion. This design is too complex to be built for a single client. First technical sanity checks of the protocol are performed by Alekos and Sjors.
Antoine builds a technical demonstrator of Revault protocol, through his company Leonod. The protocol is entirely reworked. Antoine and Kevin decide the Revault is worth exploring further and look for funding to build a functional prototype of the protocol.
BoostVC and Fulgur Ventures pre-seed Wizardsardine, the company Antoine and Kevin set up to build Revault.
The first technical demontrator of Revault, "aquarium", is released.
Revault is demoed publicly at the Open Source Dome at Bitcoin 2021 in Miami.
Bridge round funding from Bitcoiner Ventures, Portugal Ventures, Stephen Cole, Lionel Jeannerat, Brad Mills.
The first Revault Protocol is complete, the watchtowers and hardware integration are on hold until a first large deployment is on the way. Work on our next roadmap item, Liana, begins.
The team hosts BTCAzores’22, the first technical Bitcoin unconference in the Azores.
The product roadmap for 2023 is defined, including Liana, Liana Online and more.
After a couple months of development, Liana's first beta version is released.
Liana v1.0 is released at Bitcoin 2023 in Miami. The Wizardsardine team sponsors the Open Source stage.
Second version of Liana is released and BTCAzores’23 second edition takes place in Wizardsardine's headquarters, in Terceira Island.
Liana v3.0 is launched with labels and Bitbox support.
RBF fee bumping, automatic coin selection, wallet deletion and many other improvement are introduced in Liana v4.0.
